Somewhere in the world a radio plays a long forgotten song
"When Autumn Leaves begin to fall"
And I remember the falling days of you - fallen, gone.
Days of Fire Red and Orange as passion burned bright -
the red fire of your kisses on my lips,
the orange of the tips of the flames of your fingers
as at the lightest touch of them my skin did ignite.
Soon all was covered in the colors of our love's hue
Hills and mountains, ravines and meadows all bore our passion for all to view
But as in all things, my love,

                                              Autumn leaves began to fall.

Fire red turned to brown laying in the dirt below
Orange turned to grey and blended away slow
And soon all that heralded our love's mark turned bleak and grey
And as the autumn leaves my dear our passion turned to a shadowy shade,
Time took it's toll on us just as autumn on the leaves
and as the autumn leaves

                                                      Our love fell

And now comes the bitter winds, frosty as ice,
They herald the arrival of winter's death bite
Frozen tears rain down upon the once bright scenes
That had blazed with our passions galore, none like it ever seen,
Covering all in white all that once was glorious - holy as from above
And like the autumn yeilds our love

                                                   Yielded to let go.

Now buried under the mantle of the earth's soft white
Lie the memories of all those fire red and orange filled nights.
And in the bitter winds, as they frost ore my soul, I stand alone
As you like the autumn leaves

                                                  Have come and gone.

K
"I have always loved autumn, it means that all of nature is entering in a time of rest. So often we, busy people that we are, tend to forget that all life requires this. When we let it get out of control, then winter comes and with a chill snaps us, and we are forced to bend beneath the white snow, to lay, to sleep. So it is with love as well, sometimes no matter even if we follow the rules, love like autumn leaves will fall."

that song, "when autumn leaves...."
is firmly in my memory from when I
was a child, and brings back endless
memories of that time...
its a very evocative song for me...
....same for nat king cole, whom my mom
played late into the night sometimes...
another from that time is
"theme from a summer place"
(heard that?) ... that we schollchildren
danced our fiirst times with each other...
... they don't compose these heartful melodies so often these days...
best regards
