Literature Text

Mists of the morn cover my brow
As out into the heather I do go awanderin'
Feel they do like my soul's warning
Of what at path's end shall I find in explorin'
Broken vows like broken petals
Lie strewn beneath my feet in their step of travelin'

Wind blown black cloaked trunks of kith and kin
Stand gathered in this dawn's gray awakenin'
Muffled wails as those of a wee one's heart
Can hardly ner be heard among the whispered chantin'
Of wishes cast to heaven's ears as I stop in journey started

Thy name is spoken in hallowed tone
Ringing like a death bell's tide o're
Spirit quivers, soul shivers, ice chills bone
Ye were so dear, a heart's sweetest kisses stories
Knowledge of theirs of ye runs shallow, as brook o're stone
To them ye were the morning rose, know they not to me ye were a garden's glory

In hushed moments that held secrets of hours we met
In crushed moment now I grieve years of torment
My heart did ner thy touches satin forget
Splendor of rapture, desires most assuredly were holy spent
Finally, ye are alone, dressed in flower gown
And in most sacred silence of step
Wrapped in cloak of ebony, I in lonely moment lay my rose down

And wish thee now and in long years to come
My Valentine's vow to love ye still, eternally still
To pilgrimage make and on this day of tears to this thy new home
In recognition of who ye were then and always to me will
Be my one and only Valentine, till my life is no more
And across the stars I can call ye without discovery's fears
My heart's rose, my soul's song, my spirit fulfills this valentine's day vows.
To thee my Valentine rose.

~~ all down through the ages, the great loves we hold dear, like Romeo and Juliet, Barrett and Browning, Isolde and Tristan, Anthony and Cleopatra, the list could go on, some able to marry, others never to be able to fulfill their deepest love's longing, on this day I wish to honor those that could never let the sun, nor kin, nor kith know of their passions. surely they too would have celebrated, even through the successful but hard fought so unions, this day of love's declarations. so this is for them, those that lay on a place of memorial to a life and heart, a rose, a Valentine, a sign of true love's promise. ~~:blackrose::blackrose:

Please be kind in comments, I am sure there are mistakes in this one, but I too have a wee valentine to whom this is dedicated, as well as to one like the above mentioned.
